Dr. Milton Brown is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Kirklees Local TV. In his role, he ensures that the organisation’s aims, objectives, and strategies are delivered to the highest standard of excellence. Under his leadership, KLTV documents local news, promotes civic activism, and fosters research and discussion around historical events, social issues, and cultural matters affecting Huddersfield and the wider West Yorkshire community.
Dr. Brown holds a PhD in History and Philosophy from the University of Huddersfield, where his research explored the experiences of African Caribbean people navigating race and constructing identity in post-war Britain. He is also an alumnus of the United Nations programme for People of African Descent.
With a deep passion for the digital media industry, Dr. Brown enjoys bringing stories to life—from initial ideas to full-scale video productions and webcasts. He values the rich diversity within KLTV and the wide network of people and organisations the team collaborates with across the region.
Inspired by his parents, whom he describes as trailblazers unafraid to confront racial and social injustices, Dr. Brown continues their legacy of making a positive impact within his community.
Outside of his professional work, Dr. Brown enjoys reading, expanding his knowledge of history and current affairs, and engaging in activities that sharpen his mind, such as chess. He also cycles, walks, listens to music, and spends quality time with family and friends. His musical tastes span jazz-funk, soul, hip-hop, rap, country rock, and blues.
